I’m a French ‘craft-insider’ and entrepreneur now based in Canada. I founded Rue Pigalle in 2010 to champion crafts and support craftspeople - I organise trips and events for women patrons of craft.

Craft is about life. It’s about connecting with the objects that we surround ourselves with in our home, in our communities, in private and public spaces.

In this collection of stories you will meet the human beings behind the irresistible objects that intrigue and enchant us. You will discover the fascinating processes of craft, the techniques, historical and socio-cultural context, the economic challenges, and the values of craft.

Whether in print or on our travels, my objective is always to create that moment of wondrous astonishment that imprints the place and the people in our mind and heart. We need to re-learn the ability to stop, stare, admire, contemplate and reflect.

At Rue Pigalle we operate on a philanthropic patronage principle: we do not receive commission on purchases made by our members and guests. The makers and galleries we visit and write about receive 100% of the purchase price.
